From baking to roasting, your kitchen (and your dinner menu) would be lost without your oven. That's why we offer coverage to help take care of any breakdowns as quickly and easily as possible. It feels good to know that when you discover a covered problem with your oven, you can simply call American Home Shield. Ovens are covered in our ShieldGold™ and ShieldPlatinum™ plans along with other Appliances and Home Systems.
American Home Shield will pay up to $2,000 per covered appliance ($4,000 with ShieldPlatinum plan) for access, diagnosis, and repair/replacement of any covered appliance.

Yes, our ShieldGold™ and ShieldPlatinum™ plans cover ovens.
We cover all components and parts of an oven. We’ll even cover both of your ovens if you have two! The ShieldGold™ plan covers up to $2,000 for each covered appliance. The ShieldPlatinum™ plan covers up to $4,000 for each covered appliance. And if we can’t fix the covered item, we’ll replace it. See the Ovens page above for more detailed coverage information.
On average, you can expect an electric oven to last 13 years and a gas oven to last 15 years. However, all ovens are different, so life expectancy can vary.
Our standard contract term is 1 year and can be renewed upon expiration. There is a 30-day waiting period before you can make service requests and use your home warranty plan.
Yes, if we can’t fix it, we’ll replace it. Plus, we’ll cover the cost to remove any defective appliance.

I rented a motel room for the night and as I was getting ready to leave, the contractor called and said he could be there that night if I still wanted him to!!! I was soooo happy. Great service for homeowners! If you have a ton of cash ready for any home system that may fail at any moment then you are good. If you are like the other 90% of homeowners who don't, then do yourself a favor and protect your investment with an AHS home warranty. Seriously, a new HVAC in California costs over $4K. I paid $100. A new stove last year was $400, but I paid $75. It's in my budget and I don't think twice. AHS always takes great care of me.

I wasn't sure if a home warranty would be a good investment. My next door neighbor has AHS and had their AC unit repaired without any issues and little out of pocket cost. With that I was sold. Since then, I've had 2 AC units repaired, an ice maker replaced, a garbage disposal replaced, and most recently a dryer repaired. All with no issues. Doing the math, having AHS is a great investment.

I used AHS for the first time and what an easy process. I booked a service appointment online, paid the $100 service fee, and the repairman fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. Our "trusted" AC tune up guys told us our unit was leaking refrigerant and needed a new coil unit. The AHS contractor saw that a bolt was loose and after he tightened it, his meter no longer detected a leak. Thank you for sending out honest repairmen!! I'm already a huge fan.
