Pools and Built-in Spa Equipment are a luxurious addition to your outdoor space. Having the right coverage can make it a lot easier to keep them up and running. That's where we come in. American Home Shield Pools and Built-in Spa Equipment Coverage can be added to the ShieldSilver™, ShieldGold™, and ShieldPlatinum™ plans.
Shared equipment is covered. If equipment is not shared, then only one or the other is covered unless an additional fee is paid.
Covered
Above-ground components and parts of the heating, pumping, and filtration system including:
- Pool sweep and motor pump
- Pump motor
- Blower motor and timer
- Plumbing pipes and wiring
- Plumbing and electrical
Not Covered
- Portable or above-ground spas
- Lights, liners, and jets
- Ornamental fountains and waterfalls and their pumping systems
- Fuel storage tanks, heat pumps, and dehumidifiers
- Pool covers, built-in or detachable cleaning equipment, auxiliary pumps, and disposal filtration mediums
- Fill line and fill valves
- Saltwater generators and components

Yes, American Home Shield® members can purchase Additional Coverage for Pools & Built-in Spa Equipment, which includes above-ground components and parts of the heating, pumping, and filtration system.

If a pool or spa repair is covered, we will repair it subject to your plan’s limitations and exclusions, but we do not provide full pool replacements.
Pools & Built-in Spa Equipment Coverage runs concurrently with your annual home warranty plan. When your home warranty plan expires, so does the Additional Coverage, but it can be renewed upon expiration.
Once your coverage begins (30 days after you purchase your new home warranty plan) you can request service 24/7 online or call 1-888-691-2854 during standard business hours to request service.

Great service for homeowners! If you have a ton of cash ready for any home system that may fail at any moment then you are good. If you are like the other 90% of homeowners who don't, then do yourself a favor and protect your investment with an AHS home warranty. Seriously, a new HVAC in California costs over $4K. I paid $100. A new stove last year was $400, but I paid $75. It's in my budget and I don't think twice. AHS always takes great care of me.

I wasn't sure if a home warranty would be a good investment. My next door neighbor has AHS and had their AC unit repaired without any issues and little out of pocket cost. With that I was sold. I used AHS for the first time and what an easy process. I booked a service appointment online, paid the $100 service fee, and the repairman fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. Our "trusted" AC tune up guys told us our unit was leaking refrigerant and needed a new coil unit. The AHS contractor saw that a bolt was loose and after he tightened it, his meter no longer detected a leak. Thank you for sending out honest repairmen!! I'm already a huge fan.
